The iDen phones that are available for use with the Nextel network can be found at the following link. New activations and phone purchases must be approved by the Departmental budget authority and requests for phones must be accompanied by a budget code. Phones are eligible for discount pricing when first activated and when replacing phones that are more than 12 months old.

Chargers, cases, holsters, batteries, headsets, hands free, antennas, Bluetooth, data cables, memory cards, straps, etc may be purchased using a Department procard at Wireless stores or on-line.

The standard District rate plan is intended primarily for direct connect (walkie-talkie) and secondarily for cellular services. The charges for the standard plan are $20 per month and cellular at 10¢ per minute pay as you go. If more cellular use is required, there are rate plans that can accommodate.
