Sustainability
The Facilities, Operations & Construction Management Department is committed to supporting the educational mission of the Colleges in a way that minimizes the District's impact on the environment. Efforts to achieve this goal include initiatives to reduce energy consumption, reduce water use, minimize solid waste production, and maximize the use of recycled materials in construction and operations. The following presentation summarizes many of the measures taken to date.

Energy Use
The CCCCO asks all Districts to report the energy use of every campus when the 5 Year Capital Plan is submitted each year. This includes both electricity and natural gas consumed from the grid. The metric established by CCCCO is BTU's per GSF [British Thermal Units per Gross Square Footage] per weeks of instruction. The calculations and history can be found on the following links:
